Good evening, so we are here at the night before week 2 of the season and I have just finished all my play sheets, formations, coverages and preparations for our game tomorrow night against Central High School from Knoxville.
ENOUGH TALK, JUST PLAY
A picture from the paper they had last year about this time. This Offensive coordinator gets it done, LOL. That right!!!!!!
This is for my boy, LV, who was there when I started the quote with the players and saw it transfer over a bit in the game last week. Hopefully we can keep it up bro. Need your support this week as well. Thanks.
Update: For those that don't know we came up a little short last week in our home season opener, losing to Farragut HS 28-21. We had first game jitters, made one too many mistakes and were extremely fatigued at the end of the game to fall 0-1 on the season. As a unit, we must learn that you can say all you want, but it is your actions in which you are remembered for. We must learn to talk with our play and let the scoreboard tell the rest. First game was full of emotions, cheering and energy but it was only half of what we needed to pull out the game last Friday night.
Tomorrow night we are looking to rebound, put on a good show and get a win. This is important because it is a region game for us and goes towards our district record and any shot of a spot in the playoffs down the road. (YES, I am said it, playoffs.)
Anyways, we had a great week of practice with the team, going back to basics - more conditioning, an extra day of weights and more film and study time to prepare for this week's game. We also went full pads Monday through Wednesday which is brutal in this heat and on the body period, but the team responded well and had their best week of practice yet. Now we are just looking for the right results tomorrow night. I feel very confident in our abilities to overcome adversity and take advantage of opportunities. Stay tuned for results.
Mr. Rosser, the 4th grade teacher
Mr. Rosser heading out to work
Had a pretty good week of school. It is extremely hard not to be stressed with all the standards to be taught, evaluation process and molding of young minds, let alone teaching 5 subjects a day to 20 precious 4th graders. But I have taken on a new attitude with an old saying of being, "Too blessed, to be stressed". Day in and day out the demands and expectations of school and football can be taxing on the mind and the body, but I remember where my help comes from (the Lord) and remembers that he always have my back. The tattoo on my right shoulder is Matthew 6:34 which states, "Therefore do not worry for tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." I often challenge myself to be the perfect teacher, coach and role model and lose sight that I am only one man and remember that all I can do is my best. Needless to say, I have kept a positive attitude and school has been good so far. We are approaching the first month of school and my students are starting to settle in and conform to the ways of Mr. Rosser which makes the learning environment and flow of the day a pleasant one. (But there is still work to be done and more kids to form, LOL)
We have a great staff at my school, especially my 4th grade teammates and together we stand strong and take what the day has for us. *******Shoutout to the school with the best TCAP scores in the district and some of the best in the state. *********
B. Rosser, the person
I am feeling good about life. Continuing to be stress free by doing all I can in a day's time, still working out, taking what little time there is for self and staying strong in prayer for continued strength. I was even able to get the Madden 12 game for my Playstation 3 the other day and actually have enjoyed playing it a bit this week. (Even on a school night, don't tell my parents, LOL.) Thanks for the game LC, precious mane.
God is good (all the time) and all the time (God is good). Be encouraged to stay strong in your faith and walk and share a word or two with a friend. I am currently reading the book, "Crazy Love" by Francis Chan. It is a great read to put some things in focus for your life and how great God is. If you get a chance definitely check it out.
Well, thats all for now. Check back some time in the next few days for an update from the game. Thanks for taking the time to read this. I wish you a happy and safe Labor Day weekend and as always stay thirsty my friends.
PEACE
